CENTRAL CIRCUIT

Mount Kenya stands tall with its indescribable beauty and  fresh air .For those seeking the challenge of conquer this mountain, it is the highest mountain in Kenya and the second-highest in Africa, after Kilimanjaro with the  highest peaks at  Batian (5,199) metres (17,057 ft).With other attractions like the Aberdare and Mount Kenya National Parks, and a number of good hotels, lodges and ranches the central circuit is ideal for upcountry holidays. Also a host to safari rallies like the KCB Safari Rally.
There is rich conservation especially for elephants, lions and zebras. A target for  nature lovers, conservationists, researchers, sports tourists, agro-tourists, bird watchers.

5Days, 4 Nights Mt.Kenya trek
Day 1
Pick up from Airport and depart for Naro Moru. Arrive at lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, your guides will brief you and assist in sorting out the items required for the trek. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
Day 2
After breakfast, depart from the lodge and head to the Mt.Kenya National Park gate. Sign in and thereafter start a 3 hour hike, as you pass through the equatorial forest to the first camp at 3,300 m where you acclimatize. Lunch will be packed and on-route. Dinner and overnight will be at the tented camp.
Day 3
Early breakfast and continue the trek up the mountain through the bamboo forest as you approach the hearth and moorlands. Trek out the Makinders valley with many giant groundsels. 6-8 hours hike. Dinner and overnight will be at camp.
Day 4
Very early breakfast and start trek to continue the alpine ascent towards the third highest peak point Lenana at 4,985 m. The early hike is so as to arrive at the summit for a clear view of the sunrise amidst the majestic glaciers and thick snow. Then begin descending down the mountain to camp. Enjoy breakfast and a rest before continuing the walk during the afternoon. Dinner and overnight will be at camp.
Day 5
Early breakfast and thereafter descend through the alpine moorland with plants such as the giant lobelia, among other wild flower species. Continue the descent down. Pick up from main gate and head back to destination.
